BERYL var. Aquamarine
Nerchinsk, Chitinskaya Oblast, Transbaikalia, Russia 2 × 8 × 1.6 cm

Sold Specimen Number: 1121-0014 Browse All Specimens
The Nerchinsk gem mines are situated on the peaks of the Adun-Cholon Mountains in Russia, and are famous for producing richly colored and commonly banded crystals of beryl. This impressive specimen keeps with that trend, showing no less than five distinct color bands. The crystal has deep color saturation, with colors ranging from medium sky blue to nearly clear. The crystal has pronounced clarity and tremendous form. The main crystal has a sharp flat-top termination, beautifully accented by a second aquamarine crystal. A third crystal is seen extending from the side of the specimen, near its base. A beautiful piece from a classic locality. The custom made acrylic base by Sunnywood is included.
