Bill & Carol Smith Collection Here is a single gem octahedron on matrix. Bill and Carol Smith got this specimen from Bill Pinch in a complicated trade. Bill Pinch’s label explains how he had repaired the specimen after the diamond crystal fell off the matrix. By the time I got it, the pyrite in the matrix had deteriorated more and needed to be repaired and stabilized again, but ultimately this is a very good matrix diamond.
