Wendy & Frank Melanson Collection
Although there have been great anatase crystals found in Pakistan in recent years, those from Hardangervidda are still one of the ultimate European classics. Perhaps the most distinctive from the location are ones like this where small anatase crystals are scattered on gemmy smoky quartz crystals. The anatase crystals look black at a glance, but are actually a deep blue that is apparent with strong light. We found that the largest anatase had come off and was reattached to the quartz at some point, so we cleaned it up and redid the repair. It was a perfect clean contact that you would never notice otherwise.
