The Rainbow Pocket was one of the most distinctive and important pockets excavated by the Collector’s Edge. The rhodochrosite crystals are darker than most, and gemmy, but with poor luster. This pocket produced the “Alma King” currently on display at the Denver Museum and the “Alma Rose” on display at the Rice Museum in Oregon. This rhodochrosite is typical of the pocket and is perched on a matrix of black sphalerite and light purple fluorite cubes.
