Rainbow Pocket, Tetrahedrite Stope, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Park County, Colorado, USA 2.7 × 3.2 × 2.4 cm

Sold Specimen Number: 0559-0005 Browse All Specimens
There is not much calcite at the Sweet Home Mine, but there was one notable occurrence in the “Rainbow Pocket”. These calcites are rather rounded pale yellow crystal aggregates and are the last species in the pocket paragenesis. They commonly occur with rhodochrosite, fluorite and sphalerite, but this one has only one small rhodochrosite crystal in association.
