This is a large and impressive display of copper that formed as a cast around a large cobble or group of smaller cobbles in the conglomerate-hosted copper deposits of upper Michigan. The shape of the cobble has been roughly preserved in the overall ovoid shape of the specimen. The remnants of fractures and open spaces can be seen in the fins and ridges of copper that mark the casts of these fractures. A remarkable specimen, complete with a custom Sunnywood base.
