FLUORITE
Shah Nassir Peak, Nyet, Braldu Valley, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan 6 × 4 × 4.5 cm

Sold Specimen Number: 1301-BS2505 Browse All Specimens
Bill & Carol Smith Collection Bill and Carol Smith amassed a quite comprehensive suite of Pakistani minerals over the years picking up unusual species and habits of common minerals whenever they could. They were always quick to visit Dudley Blauwet of Mountain Minerals (their primary source) when he returned from buying trips to Pakistan in hopes of picking up another unusual specimen for the suite.

There is a lot of fluorite found in Pakistan, but not much is pink like this one. The sharp gemmy octahedron is partially included with a dark green material, but displays well with the similarly included green quartz crystal spray on the shared matrix.
