Bill & Carol Smith Collection Bill and Carol Smith acquired this specimen from the Minette collection from us in 2008. The Minette’s purchased the specimen from Backcountry Gems of Auburn, California in 1991. Minette’s collection card states the location as “Westside Quartz Mine, Formerly Ford Mine, Ladiss Canyon, off of Middle Fork American River, Placer Co., California”. I have so far been unsuccessful at finding a reference to these mine names or to Ladiss Canyon so any help would be appreciated. The specimen is a lovely filigree gold with brilliant sharp crystals, a wonderful TN.
