John Smolski Collection John Smolski has been an obsessive topaz collector both in the field and with a silver pick for over 20 years. He kept his field collected prizes, but we are fortunate that he sold us the rest.

Probably the world’s finest blue topaz crystals are from St. Anne’s Mine in Zimbabwe. The wedge-shaped crystals have a color almost as intense as the ubiquitous radiated blue topaz commonly found in jewelry. Like most crystal from here, this one has a contacted area where it met another topaz crystal. If these were collected today, there would certainly be spectacular groups reconstructed from the single crystals.
