John Smolski Collection John Smolski has been an obsessive topaz collector both in the field and with a silver pick for over 20 years. He kept his field collected prizes, but we are fortunate that he sold us the rest.

The Zapot claim in Nevada has produced some of the largest and most impressive topaz specimens in North America. This one is not so large, but the quality is much better than most. The crystal is lustrous and gemmy, and has some intergrown cleavelandite.
