Bryce Colwell Collection This one is a bit of a mystery to me. Bryce’s label only says “Silver Bow County”, so I assume it is from somewhere near Butte, but I’ve never seen another crystals quite like it to compare to. The complex amethyst is overgrowing a single smoky quartz crystal which is almost completely obscured except for one area in the back of the crystal. Under magnification you can see lots of inclusions that give the crystal its sparkle, little black blades of probable hematite and needles presumably of rutile.
