Bryce Colwell Collection I’ve liked the fluorite from La Collada ever since I saw the magnificent specimen on display at the Colorado School of Mines Museum. This one is the same habit with sharp cube faces and rather irregular dodecahedral modifications. The core of this specimen is a beautiful gemmy light blue, but the surface grades to a darker, nearly opaque purple. The crystal to the far right as shown on the main photograph is cleaved showing the gemmy blue interior.
