Jim & Dawn Minette Collection A large and extraordinary specimen of tunellite on matrix from the type locality in Boron, California. Tunellite is almost exclusively found as single, detached crystals, making this large matrix piece exceptionally rare. The tunellite crystals show remarkable clarity against the cream white, mottled surface of the ulexite matrix. Tunellite exhibits perfect cleavage along the {100} form which, in this case, has created an intricate step-like growth pattern on the upper crystal faces. This piece was featured in the Special Memorial Exhibit of the James and Dawn Minette Collection, and includes its original label. A remarkable specimen for the true connoisseur.
