Salida, CO Elks Lodge Collection The Elks Club in Salida, Colorado housed a display of several diverse mineral suites from Leadville, Bisbee, the Tri-State district and others, many with historic labels affixed to the specimens. The club decided to dispose of the collection, and we bought it this spring (2014).

One of two great Tri-State specimens in the collection, this is a fantastic cluster of splendant galena crystals on a matrix of lustrous pink dolomite. It is a striking specimen. The luster could not be better and the damage is insignificant. The worst spot on this one is a small damaged area on the bottom of the central galena crystal. The crystals are so bright that you don’t really notice it. The pink dolomite is the perfect backdrop for the galena. One of the best Tri-State pieces I’ve had in years.
