Bill & Carol Smith Collection A marvelous single crystal made even better with the aesthetically placed hematite stained dolomite at the base. The crystal is nicely lustrous and wonderfully zoned starting with a dark brown strip down the middle of the crystal grading to a lighter brown throughout to the nearly colorless tip. Bill acquired this in an exchange with the US National Museum in 1961 when museum exchanges were far more common than today. The scribed “R59” signifies a Roebling specimen.
