John Smolski Collection This is an exceptional specimen of gemmy champagne topaz perched on large white microcline crystals that exhibit textbook baveno twins. The size of the topaz is remarkable, measuring more than 2 inches on edge. The topaz has an incredibly sharp crystal from, with pristine terminations- a perfect complement to the well-formed feldspar crystals. The specimen is balanced by two milky white to pale smoky quartz crystals on the left edge. There are contacts on the quartz crystals, with minor contacts on the edges and base of the specimen. The topaz crystal has natural fractures along its contact with the microcline. On the whole, a classic mineral combination with an incredibly aesthetic form.
