The Black Pine Mine in Philipsburg is certainly best known for its world-class veszelyite crystals, but much more was produced from the mine. Fine tetrahedrite crystals and quartz twins like this one are just two examples. Typical of the Black Pine, this twin consists of a dominant vertical crystal with a smaller crystal flaring off about two-thirds of the way down from the termination. Most of the crystal is coated by a distinctive, but rather ugly coating of brownish-green pyromorphite.
